Disney Villain Series: Who’s the Fairest of the All?

ACS_0877

This week I’ve paired up with Sheela Goh to do DisneyBound outfits based on some of our favorite villains.

My first villain is the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. The story and its characters are based on Snow White by the Brothers Grimm. The Queen is one of Disney’s most iconic and menacing villains of all time.

Lucille La Verne was the voice behind both the Queen and the Witch. While it was Disney’s first feature film, it was La Verne’s final film role.

Momma’s interpretation of Captain Hook.

I’m not gonna lie, the Evil Queen used to scare the crap out of me as a kid. I found her entire transformation into the Witch quite creepy. But now I just find her somewhat fascinating. I mean, anyone who’s so desperate to be the most beautiful that they resort to plotting and murder is an interesting character.

It probably also has something to do with the fact that Snow White has always been my least favorite Disney princess. I never really connected to her and her singing voice used to make my head hurt a little.

Queen Ravenna from Snow White and the Huntsman played by Charlize Theron.

My favorite live action portrayal of the Evil Queen is the one by Lana Parilla on Once Upon a Time. Also known as Regina Mills, she wasn’t just an overall badass woman who always dressed impeccably. Instead of being the flat and static villain everyone expected her to be, Regina managed to overcome her struggles and become the Good Queen without sacrificing her sass and strength.

  1. What a fun outfit – the velvet you wore makes it I think! 🙂

This is a great challenge for an outfit! Hubby and I used to watch Once Upon a Time, we haven’t seen it in so long, but it was a good show when we did watch it! 🙂 I agree she was a great character!

Thank you for joining the #weekdaywearlinkup!

Hope that you had a lovely weekend 🙂
