This month our theme is Avant Garde.
When October was on the rise I thought it would be really cool for our theme to be something extravagant and out of the box in the spirit of Halloween without being too literal. So I begged Momma Bear a.k.a. Sheela Writes to make her theme just that. And she came up with Avant Garde!
Shades from an indie store.Tank and pants are gymwear.
I have to admit that this was not the original outfit I was planning to display this month.
My initial outfit was all white and the top had a pocket with graphic words on it. But as much as I love it, I saw it more as a cool outfit and not so much as Avant Garde.
So I decided to try something else and went for an all black ensemble. And I decided to put on some lipstick to add an extra umph!

This month our theme is Maxi Dress.
And I must say, the outfits put together this week are my favorites out of the entire archive of Project Sister Act.
Super studious.
As we were about to leave for the shoot, my momma suggested that I grab some of my books and imitate my favorite Disney princess Belle.
I’m glad I did.
It gave me something to focus on while passerbys stared.
Shades from an indie boutique.Choker is Nasty Gal via Poshmark.Having a mini modern-day Belle moment.Shoes from JustFab.
So I picked out the books that, in my opinion, had colors that went with those in my dress.
Alice in Wonderland was one of the first books I had ever read. I was so enthralled by how Lewis Carroll could invent such a detailed and kooky world.
Persuasion is one of my favorite novels. I remember being so into the story that I would have a heart attack whenever Anne and Captain Wentworth had an awkward encounter or fight. Like, for real, just get back together!
The Great Gatsby, otherwise known as The Tale of a Third-Wheeler, was one of the books I had to read in my AP English III class. Gatsby, can’t you see that you’re the sidehoe???
Love how Carmen’s SWT has a cool graphic bow print.
I’m sorry that this post is so meager. It’s the first week of school and I’m sooo not used to being unable to have my two naps a day.
I am, however, incredibly glad that I opted to have late arrival as a part of my schedule. Waking up has not been as torturous as it had been the past six years.
On Monday in my AP Calculus AB class (yes, that’s what it’s called), we began reviewing the material we learned in Algebra II (which was two year ago) and Pre-Cal (three months ago). I had only been at school for twenty minutes, with extra sleep, and I already felt like giving up. Everyone one was like, “What the hell is that?” or “Oh God, domain and range!” or “I can’t even…” I mean, really, it was a struggle.
And today I have three quizzes!
The first week of school guys, the first week.
On Tuesday Seniors had an assembly and our grade principal put on display a clock. It was counting down the days, the hours, the minutes, and the seconds leading up to graduation.
At the time it stated that we had 277 days to go.
It is now Day 5.
It is only Day 5.
God, help me 🙏🏾
AP Bio got me like…Wait, it’s only been a week of school?Holding on for dear life as school continues.
Anyways, a huge thank you to every blogger that was part of August’s Project Sister Act 🙂
Make sure to check in next month to see what’s next!
