This is also my second collaboration with Ettika.

It’s an online jewelry store perfect for the bohemian girl with a bit of an edge, based in one of my favorite places ever – Cali.

dsc_0263dsc_0261dsc_0258

I’ve recently become into chokers and other types of necklaces, so when the opportunity to wear one of Ettika’s presented itself I was more than happy to oblige.

It’s called the Lovely Loop Bolo Wrap in Pink and Gold.

I’m in love with its bright color and cool .

But if you’re someone who’s not into necklaces or chokers, then check out the other items Ettika has. Like rings, bracelets, earrings, and body jewelry.

I myself have been eyeing the Desert Ranch Bolo Wrap in Light Grey and Gold as well as the Age of Innocence Bracelet in White and Antique Silver.

Sunny feels.

Project Sister Act, created by Sheela Writes, is a collaboration amongst bloggers to prove that style is ageless.

This month our theme is RED.

I rented this dress for my stepbrother’s girlfriend’s Debutante Ball. My mother and I had never attended something so formal, so we figured that we’d have to bring out the big gun: Rent the Runway.

One of the most awesome places ever!

DSC_0464.jpg

This dress made me feel like such a princess!

I had never worn a gown up to that point so initially I was trotting around in those heels (which hurt like hell at the end of the night) and pulling up that skirt like I was walking in mud. It was a bit of a struggle.

But once I got the hang of it, I started twirling and swishing and whatever else it is you do in long dresses that put a huge smile on my face.

I admit that letting the dress go was both physically and emotionally painful, but that dress was way too expensive for this high schooler’s wallet. Not to also mention that the probability of having an event to wear it to was low. Actually, nonexistent.

dsc_0454dsc_0458

This goes to show that what you wear has an impact on how you feel and how you behave.

When I was at the ball my posture was on point throughout the night, I placed my hands gently on top of my lap when seated, and crossed my legs the Princess Diaries way (if you don’t know what I’m talking about then go watch that film, it’s the best). The dress made me feel beautiful, confident, and graceful.

It’s important to wear what makes you feel those things.

When you do, you feel like you can conquer the world.

Mini Bosslady. I take after my momma.

This is the first edition of a three-part collaboration with Jodie’s Touch of Style and Sheela Writes. The idea was to showcase various ways of dressing with tweed. Also, though unintentional, it is a collaboration amongst mothers and daughters ❤️

The first of the series is to wear tweed in a ladylike style. The rest will show different surprise elements, which shall be posted in the following days.

Ring from Shasa.

Project Sister Act, created by Sheela Writes, is a collaboration amongst bloggers to prove that style is ageless.

This month our theme is Avant Garde.

When October was on the rise I thought it would be really cool for our theme to be something extravagant and out of the box in the spirit of Halloween without being too literal. So I begged Momma Bear a.k.a. Sheela Writes to make her theme just that. And she came up with Avant Garde!

dsc_0584

Tank and pants are gymwear.

I have to admit that this was not the original outfit I was planning to display this month.

My initial outfit was all white and the top had a pocket with graphic words on it. But as much as I love it, I saw it more as a cool outfit and not so much as Avant Garde.

So I decided to try something else and went for an all black ensemble. And I decided to put on some lipstick to add an extra umph!

Another Princess Disney Moment

image
Oh, hey there!

Project Sister Act, created by Sheela Writes, is a collaboration amongst bloggers to prove that style is ageless.

This month our theme is Maxi Dress.

And I must say, the outfits put together this week are my favorites out of the entire archive of Project Sister Act.

image
Super studious.

As we were about to leave for the shoot, my momma suggested that I grab some of my books and imitate my favorite Disney princess Belle.

I’m glad I did.

It gave me something to focus on while passerbys stared.

So I picked out the books that, in my opinion, had colors that went with those in my dress.

Alice in Wonderland was one of the first books I had ever read. I was so enthralled by how Lewis Carroll could invent such a detailed and kooky world.

Persuasion is one of my favorite novels. I remember being so into the story that I would have a heart attack whenever Anne and Captain Wentworth had an awkward encounter or fight. Like, for real, just get back together!

The Great Gatsby, otherwise known as The Tale of a Third-Wheeler, was one of the books I had to read in my AP English III class. Gatsby, can’t you see that you’re the sidehoe???

Love how Carmen’s SWT has a cool graphic bow print.

I’m sorry that this post is so meager. It’s the first week of school and I’m sooo not used to being unable to have my two naps a day.

I am, however, incredibly glad that I opted to have late arrival as a part of my schedule. Waking up has not been as torturous as it had been the past six years.

On Monday in my AP Calculus AB class (yes, that’s what it’s called), we began reviewing the material we learned in Algebra II (which was two year ago) and Pre-Cal (three months ago). I had only been at school for twenty minutes, with extra sleep, and I already felt like giving up. Everyone one was like, “What the hell is that?” or “Oh God, domain and range!” or “I can’t even…” I mean, really, it was a struggle.

And today I have three quizzes!

The first week of school guys, the first week.

On Tuesday Seniors had an assembly and our grade principal put on display a clock. It was counting down the days, the hours, the minutes, and the seconds leading up to graduation.

At the time it stated that we had 277 days to go.

It is now Day 5.

It is only Day 5.

God, help me 🙏🏾

AP Bio got me like…

Wait, it’s only been a week of school?

Holding on for dear life as school continues.

Anyways, a huge thank you to every blogger that was part of August’s Project Sister Act 🙂

Give ’em the Cold Shoulder

Project Sister Act: Bared Shoulders

Project Sister Act, originated by Sheela Writes, is a collaboration amongst bloggers to prove that style is ageless.

For June, the theme chosen is called Bared Shoulders.

My own personal Diagon Alley.

I have to say, when I first saw this place, the first thing that popped into my head was Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley.

Initially sketchy, but turns out to be cool.

And normally I don’t wear long dresses because I could either trip or get it caught onto something.

But this dress is the exception.

It’s so freakin’ comfy.

And swishable.

I felt like a folkloric dancer twirling about.

And I must say that my hair looks really good! Which is strange considering that it was hot as hell that day AND I was sweating profusely.

Animal Instinct

Animal print is this month’s Project Sister Act theme.

Project Sister Act was created by my mother, Sheela Goh, to prove that style has no age limit as various bloggers of different ages interpret a style in their own way.

That concludes May’s Project Sister Act.

I know I barely wrote anything and that this post is not very inspiring. My brain’s been fried from all the tests I’ve had to take these past few weeks. But I’ll try to do better next week.

Shout out to the other bloggers that participated! This month’s outfits are by far my favorite in the entire Project Sister Act history.

Can’t wait for next month 🙂
